What would you do if Bitboy sued you?

Welcome to Unironically, Alpha, the new rebrand of Psychedelic Toad.

Don't get us wrong, we still love a good psychedelic toad every now and then, but everyone also loves a nice and desperate rebranding strategy as well.

(Note: We're still keeping the glorious Toad as the logo for now.)

Well, to start the mark of a new era, we're going to let you in on our new, five-year Life plan:

Here's what we got cookin' today:

BITBOY CRYPTO FLINGS FRIVOLOUS LAWSUIT AND THEN RETRACTS IT

YouTuber & Twitter personality, atozy, is being sued by Bitboy Crypto for calling Bitboy out on promoting sketchy crypto projects in the past few years on his YouTube channel.

As of this morning, in an astounding turn of events, Bitboy said he is dropping the lawsuit.

TL;DR: Pretty sleazy move all around: (I don't think anyone should trust any adult who refers to themselves as anything -boy): suing someone he probably thought would be helpless to defend himself financially with legal and lawyer fees, then seeing the overwhelming support and money atozy received in just two days, and then fearing that he could actually lose the case and, moreover, be exposed for his questionable project shilling the past few years.

Shoutout to Cobie, the absolute goat, who sent $100K for the cause last night.

CANTINO DISPELLING MYTHS ABOUT THE MERGE

A lot of speculation and myths about the upcoming Ethereum Merge, that is now slated for September 14-15th of this year, are inevitably cropping up.

There's always noise in the marketplace, so it's up to the individual researcher to whittle down the bullshit and dilute it into its most refined essence.

Chris Cantino has accomplished this and gives us a sobering look at what we can, and can not, expect for The Merge.

TL;DR:

+ Gas fees won't go down

+ Transaction speed won't improve

+ Network capacity won't increase

(Not right away at least)

However:

+ The Merge will reduce ETH’s energy consumption by ~99.5%

+ L2s, sharding, and Verkle Trees will make ETH cheaper and faster

TWITTER SCAMS

Twitter has always had prevalent crypto scams, but recently they have mutated and evolved into new schemes. Here are the latest Twitter scam tactics to be aware of so you don't get properly hoodwinked:

CHAINLINKGOD ON BLOCKCHAIN CENSORSHIP

Short, hot take on blockchain censorship by ChainlinkGod. I'd recommend the comment section dialogues as well.

WE APPARENTLY LIVE IN A GIANT DOME

Bonus schizo thread I found this week on the history of classified American Operations since 1946 onwards, and how we apparently live within a giant dome, and there's supposedly more land beyond the walls of the Antarctic. (Even if the theory ends up being entirely fictional, the concept itself is extremely entertaining.)

Other Tid-Bits

An actual great normie video by Graham Stephan clearly explaining China's current debt crisis and impending economic collapse:

Have seen this narrative way too many times before, the classic: "X-amount of stores are now able to receive crypto payments, yada yada" usually resulting in a nothingburger. I mean, who actually wants to spend their crypto?

However, we shouldn't be too cynical either, let's see what Mike's hiding underneath those trousers.

More scam tactics on Twitter by Hashoshi, followed by a similar post by Serpent:

The long-awaited ENS Integration with Coinbase is rolling out. BIG.
